Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane yesterday took to Twitter to hit out at EA Sports, after the world’s most popular football game omitted the forward from the games most recent FIFA 17 Team of the Week (TOTW) lineup.
The 23 man squad is compiled every Wednesday by EA Sports for the game’s Ultimate Team mode.
The chosen players are then boosted with a stat upgrade in the game, based entirely on how well they performed over the last week in real-life football fixtures.
In this case, Kane ended the season scoring four goals in the 6-1 victory over Leicester City before netting a hat-trick in the 7-1 mauling of Hull City on the final day of the season.
Despite this, EA Sports overlooked Kane in the games final Team of the Week selection, opting instead for Sergio Aguero, who scored twice against Watford, Alexandre Lacazette, who netted a brace against Nice, and Marco Reus, who also scored twice for Borussia Dortmund against Werder Bremen.
In response, Kane took to Twitter to send a rather cheeky dig at EA Sports in full view of the striker’s loyal followers, writing:
“I’m guessing seven goals in two games wasn’t enough then.”
But to their credit, EA Sports replied to remind the Golden Boot winner that he was included in the games Premier League Team of the Season squad, following his impressive haul of 29 goals in 30 games this season.
Which seems to have appeased the striker, who later admitted, “all is forgiven”.
Though there was no room for Kane in this week’s Team of the Week selection, there was plenty of room for Manchester United’s Pogba, Liverpool’s Wijnaldum and Tottenham star 17 Heung Min Son in the starting XI.

As mentioned EA Sports and FIFA 17 did include Kane in their Team of the Season British Premier League squad.
Given the remarkable form of both newly crowned Champions Chelsea and runners-up Tottenham Hotspur, it’s unsurprising that the team featured four players from both sides in the starter XI.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton completed the lineup with a player apiece, while Arsenal and Manchester City could only settle for one player each on the bench in the form of Alexis Sanchez and Kevin De Bruyne.
