FIFA 18 fans may be able to choose to play in European leagues like La Liga, Ligue One or the Bundesliga in The Journey: Hunter Returns.
In FIFA 17’s original Journey mode, rising footie star Alex Hunter was only able to play in the Premier League.
However, he did face off against European teams Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain while playing in England’s top flight.
FIFA 18 trailers have hinted that Hunter may subjects to a transfer away from the original Premier League team that the hotshot choose to play for.
It’s also been heavily hunted that Hunter will have the opportunity to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo’s La Liga giants Real Madrid.
And eagle eyed fans who have been looking at Hunter’s official Twitter account have spotted EA dropping a big hint about this.
Alex Hunter’s Twitter account has only just been announced recently, but he’s already following a number of eye-catching accounts.
Besides following the Premier League, Hunter’s official Twitter is following official Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and La Liga accounts.
These could be hints from EA that Hunter could play in one of these major European leagues in The Journey: Hunter Returns.
One of the first few tweets that Hunter posted gave a big hint that he’s set to meet – and maybe even play with – FIFA 18 cover star Ronaldo.
The tweet showed a pictured of Adetomiwa Edun, who plays Alex Hunter, looking chummy with Ronaldo in real-life.
The Portuguese star looks like he had just been doing motion captured for FIFA 18.
Alongside the picture the tweet says: “Cristiano and I are in the game.”
While FIFA 18 brings with it the latest chapter of Alex Hunter’s football adventure, Nintendo Switch owners will NOT get to play it.
EA Sports previously announced that the Switch version will not have The Journey: Hunter Returns.
The PS4, Xbox One and PC versions will.
It’s believed this is because the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 is not running the Frostbite engine, which The Journey relies on.
FIFA 18 has a release date of September 29. The demo for the football juggernaut is set to arrive on September 15 – two weeks before launch.
