EA PLAY 2017 UPDATE 1
The EA Play 2017 live stream is set to kick off in just under 20 minutes time at 8pm BST.
EA predict the Pre-E3 2017 event will last around 90 minutes and showcase plenty of new gameplay, trailer, release dates and more for some of the publishers biggest new games.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 gameplay may have leaked already, but it shouldn’t detract from what will surely be a MASSIVE event.
Fans can watch the new live stream using a number of different services, including YouTube and Twitch.
You can follow all the updates from our live stream blog, here: EA Play E3 2017 LIVE STREAM
Over the next hour and a half, we’ll be updating this page with all the news, announcements and trailers for FIFA 18.
But if you want to know more about those other EA Games, you can do so by following the links below:
EA Play gets underway later today when EA finally lift the curtain on E3 2017 with their opening showcase from Hollywood, the livestream is set to start Saturday, June 10 (today) at 12pm PT/3pm ET/8pm BST and will kick start a week of blockbuster news and announcements from various third-party publishers and console makers from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
For EA Sports, the spotlight will once again be firmly on FIFA and it’s latest Christiano Ronaldo fronted FIFA 18 release, coming 29th September later this year.
Already the team from EA’s Vancouver office have outlined quite a few changes to the annual football title and we’re fully expecting that EA Play will be used to showcase a brand new FIFA 18 gameplay trailer.
In addition, we’re expecting something related to the games now famous career mode, known as ‘The Journey’, staring Alex Hunter.
Given that Gamescom in August is usually reserved for showcasing FIFA’s Ultimate Team changes, we suspect that EA Play 2017 will also be a great jumping off point for EA Vancouver to outline what’s happening next in The Journey.
EA has already confirmed The Journey will return in FIFA 18 with all new storylines and characters, which shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise because it allows the game to truly showcase what the Frostbite Engine can do, but also because during a recent investor’s call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed that 10 million players experienced The Journey in FIFA 17.

FIFA 18 – WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW
As we mentioned, the FIFA 18 announcement earlier this week contained much more than simply an acknowledgement of Ronaldo as the games new cover star.
Here’s a quick run down of what we already know about FIFA 18, direct from the game’s website.
FUELED BY THE WORLD’S BEST
To deliver innovation in FIFA 18, Cristiano Ronaldo’s data was recently recorded during a training session at a mobile EA Capture studio in Madrid. Data capture of Ronaldo’s acceleration, run cadence, skills, and shooting technique were all recorded to bring veracity to his likeness and personality in FIFA 18. His data also informed important gameplay elements including fluidity, player responsiveness and explosiveness.
FIFA ULTIMATE TEAM FUT ICONS
The Best of the Best are coming to FIFA 18 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. More details on ICONS to be revealed soon.
Ronaldo Nazario: Explosive pace, lethal finishing and dazzling skill. Legendary Brazilian Striker and two-time FIFA World Cup winner Ronaldo Nazário headlines FUT ICONS.
The official title for The Journey featured in the wealth of information announced earlier this week, but we’ve no idea what Alex Hunter is going to be getting up to in his second season and what other famous faces he’s going to meet along the way.
